PRODUCTIONS
Fulldome productions are expensive, have humongous file sizes, and are difficult to create...until now. Given the production power of the open source render engine Blender, fulldome productions can now be made by a community of individuals who have limited resources and money. Below, you will find a varriety of fulldome resources such as free shows, sample shows, links to affordable productions, and tutorials on creating your own fulldome videos.

Space Is Big | Coming Soon
DIY Planetarium is currently working on its first 3k show since 2009. Space Is Big is complete reworking of our 2010 show, Solar Journey. Viewers will be flown through our solar system, passing by the sun, the planets, its exciting moons such as Io, Europa, and Ganymede, as well as Kuiper Belt objects. In the spirit of Solar Journey, this show will also be offered for free! Enjoy this work in progress until Solar Journey is completed.

Blender | Getting Started
Before you can start making brilliant fulldome productions, you'll need to get comfortable with the basics of the Blender sotware. This tutorial will guide you through that.
Computing Power
You can create a show with a single machine, but the more CPUs you have, the better off you'll be. Above is a supercomputer I built, with a 4-core machine on each shelf. Using AMD CPUs and bare bones parts, a supercomputer like this can be built for under $2k.
